People often assume that if you’re writing blogs or diving into any form of creativity, you’re recovering from some mental health crisis.
It’s as if being a writer or blogger, in my case, is synonymous with overcoming deep-seated issues.
But when was the last time someone asked a Chemical engineer if they became a Chemical engineer to recover from a mental breakdown? Probably never.
So why are creators and writers often pigeonholed this way?
The Source of Creativity:
The glorious aspects of life come from within, not from some external loss, a trendy yoga retreat, or a Prozac prescription.
People can question and wonder all they want about one’s chose of creativity , Meanwhile, like Elizabeth Gilbert, a phenomenal woman whose creativity has touched many, I’ll keep doing what I love.
If you haven’t heard of her, you might want to start praying and eating—she’ll inspire you.
Embrace Your Glorious Self:
I don’t care what people think about my writing. What I care about is that I’ve created something.
So, ask yourself, what have you done lately, for you, just for you and your glorious self. Take time and invest in yourself and find whatever makes you embrace your glorious self.
Creativity Isn’t About a Tragedy:
it wasn’t the death of a family member that pushed me to write. I think I’ve always been a writer, long before any such events.
Look deep into yourself and you will recognize what it is that inspires your glorious self.
I don’t need a reason to write—I do it because I want to, not because of some dramatic life changing event or because I listened to self help blogs on how to find the inner me. It just takes some searching , to become the best version of you.. Lets repeat , its only you yourself that can inspire you.
You Are the Source of Your Creativity:
It doesn’t take another person to encourage you to create or take care of yourself. You are you, and they are they.
Nobody deserves credit for your creativity or your health journey, just like nobody encouraged you to become unhealthy.
Unless you live in a clone world, your journey is your own.
As I’ve become more in tune with my own mind—not because of death or any grand journey( l will keep saying this) —I realize I won’t be judged by anyone.
Those who judge are simply projecting their own issues.
Creativity and claiming life, comes from something inside you, not from a life-defining moment.
Finding Your Creative Spirit:
It’s not an internalized tormented mind that decides to create, but a person who found their creative spirit deep within.
As Elizabeth Gilbert said, “Embrace the glorious mess that you are.” Embracing imperfection and authenticity is key to true creativity.
So, embrace who you are and let your creativity flow. Don’t let anyone define you or your journey leave them to their own glorious mess.
